Property taxes
How taxes work in Ascension
Homes are assessed at 10% of market value. Homestead removes the first $7,500 of assessed value from parish taxes, but it doesn't apply to municipal taxes except for schools. In Ascension, homestead isn't automatic. Owners apply online through the Ascension Parish Assessor.
